Each year, a word or phrase becomes my guiding light for the year. This year, the phrase is “Spring flowers.” The phrase is from a verse in the Bible where the lover says to the beloved, “See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come.”
It has a hopeful tone that marks change and growth and a new season. So I decided I would focus on making a series of floral paintings, as a way to reinforce the theme in my mind and heart.
